I wanted to put it all on the altar of sacrifice. I learned how to say “Not my will, but thine be done.” While in the MTC, I saw many of my weaknesses, but learned to turn it over to the Lord. Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are the greatest mentors anyone could have. But there is someone, and it’s not us, who knows exactly what we need to gain eternal happiness, and has the power to make us greater than we are. There is a belief in the world centered on each individual going after their own needs. By doing this, by putting our whole souls in the Lord’s hands, we allow Him to change us. I learned a lot about my calling as a missionary, and gained confidence in knowing who had sent me and what I was to do. I learned a lot about communicating with love with a companion. In the MTC I learned how the Lord can strengthen us and heal us physically. Whether it’s the Gospel, a language, or physics, the principles are the same, and we learn all truth through the Spirit. My spiritual learning in the MTC was no less than my language learning in the MTC.
